The Luton Assembly is launched its Stronger and Safer Network
On the 1st of December 2009, the Luton Assembly launched one of its new theme group networks the ‘Stronger and Safer’ Communities Network.
The network will exist to bring together those organisations who’s work have a direct impact on crime and the prevention of crime in Luton and those where the link is not so obvious like faith, homelessness, art therapy, job forums and afterschool club.
They will be able to share best practise in terms of service delivery, strategy and policy and provide a valuable input into the work of their strategic partners such as the Police, Local Authority, Fire, Educators and Health.
Over 45 registered organisations listened to presentations outlining the Luton Assembly, Luton Forum and their relation to the Stronger and Safer Network. Jenny Spouge its Chairperson also gave her vision for the future and outlined the ‘City of Sanctuary’ movement.
The 4 lively workshops tried to define stronger and provided the event with excellent pictoral representation of ’ stronger’.
Notes of the day are in the process of being typed and they will be distributed to all the participants. Jenny Spouge and her team of Luton Assembly Stronger and Safe representatives will feed the information into the CDRP and the Local Strategic Partnership, Stronger and Safer Board, who are supporting the development of the network in recognition of the valuable contribution that the VCS play in the local crime agenda.
