Theme Group - Health & Wellbeing Board I am the Luton Rights Centre Manager. I have been working for Luton Rights for over 13 years as a Welfare Benefits Adviser/Supervisor, dealing directly with members of the general public and external agencies. My experiences have enabled me to acquire extensive skills and knowledge of the benefits system and I understand the local needs of the communities in Luton. This has generated an interest in the local community and their welfare in terms of assisting communities to overcome barriers/obstacles in accessing services within Luton and its surrounding areas. I have been involved with the Bengali Women's project and the Centre for Youth and Commmunity Development on a voluntary basis for over 15 years and I have developed a strong understanding of the voluntary sector and the needs of some of the most deprived communities in Luton.
