In February 2003, Paul became the Chief Executive of the Luton Carnival Arts Development Trust. Paul is a life long champion for children and young people and has drawn on personal experiences to support the needs of our future leaders. Paul has worked tirelessly to produce a wonderful £7,500,000 building not just dedicated to carnival arts but for the participation and inclusion of Luton’s diverse children and young people. Paul brings a wealth of experience in community and arts, regeneration, fund raising, business planning and educational development and has successfully produced UKs first foundation degree in carnival arts to be launched in September 2010. Paul has chosen to support this degree with an exciting pathway of creative learning opportunities, providing a broader and a more relevant offer to our children and young people. Paul wants to position Luton as a wonderful place to work, live and visit and is working with partners to ensure Luton’s annual Carnival event makes a smooth transition to the UKCCA and the community over the next two years. Paul believes Luton Carnival will become the showcase of Luton’s young talent and connect this to local and national agendas such as the Olympics and other international events.
