The Community Development Service supports 5 partnerships in Ashcroft, Biscot Bury Park, Dallow, Lewsey, and High Town. They have three key aims:
- Ensuring continued community engagement and involvement in decision making at the neighbourhood level
- Reviewing and updating neighbourhood renewal plans
- Taking forward key priorities in each neighbourhood based on local concerns

Changing our neighbourhoods for the better is not an easy task. It needs a positive approach, with everyone involved pulling together, not working at cross-purposes. Above all, local people and community organisations need to be involved in building up a shared vision of the changes required.

Neighbourhood Partnerships have a key role to play in this process. They depend on the involvement of local people acting as citizens, in the full sense of the word. They also depend on public servants working directly with local people to realise their aspirations. They need to be realistic of course, but to combine realism with vision for real change.

It is this kind of "can-do" approach which has inspired the Neighbourhood Renewal Plans on these web pages. But plans and strategies are only a statement of purpose. What makes them real is ongoing commitment to realizing their goals. Going forward from here, the Neighbourhood Partnerships will be enabling dialogue and agreeing commitments between local people, community and voluntary organisations, businesses and public services on what steps are needed to achieve priorities from the Plan.

So, in this sense, the Plan is a ‘thank you’ if you are already involved - and a warm invitation if you are not. We believe this involvement can refresh the parts other plans cannot reach - but to do so it needs your voice and active involvement for the future.
