Theme Group: Health and Wellbeing Board (specialist Housing Representative)

My name is Linda Mitchell and I have been an Assembly representative for 3yrs.   I have lived in Luton for thirty years and am passionate about my local area and services in it.

I have over 20yrs experience in housing and have the Higher National Certificate of the Chartered Institute of Housing. I put my knowledge to use helping communities as the Vice Chair of the Tenants Consultative Committee and Chair of Limbury Local Tenants and Residents Association and newly elected onto the Luton Housing Partnership.  It is very important to have someone with housing experience to be able to confer with our local communities on housing issues, now and in the future especially with the Growth Area agenda in Luton. 

Housing is a cross cutting issue and I represent the local voluntary and community sector as an Assembly representative on the Local Strategic Partnership Board and Health and Wellbeing Board.

I want to continue as an Assembly representative, using the strategy and knowledge I have gained over the past 3years, to help to influence service design and delivery and mentor the newly elected representatives.
