My name is Lawrence Fagbayi, I am married with 3 children and, my family and I have been living in Luton since the year 2000. I studied for a Post Graduate Diploma at Oxford Brookes University. Having worked in public/private sectors in different positions including supervisor, manager, trustee and director respectively, served different communities in various capacities over 20 years, I have got administrative, finance, campaign/communications, organisation, and leadership skills. I am presently a trustee/director and leader of Reconciliation & Restoration Centre (aka The GP Ministries) a registered UK Charity. I have worked on a range of community based projects including; strategically building a stronger relationship between the African and Chinese in Hackney, London and youth engagement and community cohesion- ‘Say NO to drugs and YES to Sports’ Campaigns and Concerts in New Cross, London . I also have positive experience engaging with young people, parents, and community groups: such as, a girl from a dysfunctional family made it to Oxford University and a young boy stabbed due to involvement with gangs now has a Masters Degree and became a useful citizen. As well as this, I have held seminars at Hockwell Ring Community Centre (Luton) on Moving to the Next Level for all women, youth and ethnic minority groups to help motivate people to live above poverty level and at St. Stephen’s Church, Enfield, on Making Visible Difference Community Engagement/Empowerment: where I held seminars on Teenage Pregnancy, Obesity, Poverty, Citizenship, etc. Outside the UK: I have launched the Living Water Project to provide bore holes for people without access to clean, safe and drinkable water all over Africa, Asia, etc. The first bore hole to be commissioned was in Africa in 2009.
