The Luton Assembly and LBC’s Community Development have recognised that the Hockwell Ring & Saint’s area has not been highlighted as a deprived area by the government but has some levels of deprivation. In order to try & address some of these issues we have supported the area with the formation of a Local Empowerment Network.

Hockwell Ring Local Empowerment Network (LEN)

This network has been formed by the residents, community groups and workers within Hockwlell Ring. They have carried out a community planning exercise to see what provisions need to be in place in order to make the area more affluent& a better place for all ages to live. The Hockwell Ring LEN has employed a Community Link worker to help them within their area . They are also looking to provide a community newsletter for the residents in the future.

Saint’s Local Empowerment Network

This network has been formed by residents & various other parties in the area. They have carried out a community planning exercise to look at what issues need to be addressed within the area. They are hoping to employ a Community Link Worker for the area in the future.
