History of Healthy Communities & Safeguarding

exercise

The Healthy Communities and Safeguarding Committee was formed in September 2011 after a merger between two of the theme areas of the Luton Assembly: VISION4 Children & Young People* and Health & Well Being**.

The new committee represents both areas of children and health.

*The VISION4 CYP is a network that supports voluntary and community sector organisations working with children and young people. It is one of the theme areas of the Luton Assembly. The network promotes partnership working between the statutory agencies and voluntary & community organisations. The network aims to create better access to information, more opportunities and communication.

**The Health and Well Being Network is one of the theme areas of the Luton Assembly that supports voluntary and community organisations working in the field of health and well being. The network covers a wide range of categories. For example, meeting housing needs, raising educational attainment, improving health outcomes, addressing skills gaps and improving employment opportunities, are all vital in addressing the underlying inequalities that undermine cohesion and inclusion.
