About Luton Assembly

Luton Assembly’s current work programme and funding has successfully completed and after 10yrs of strategically representing Luton’s VCS and communities, it has been necessary to review its method of operation.

Although the Assembly and its Representatives will continue, as from today (30th March 2012), there will no longer be a support team. This will mean that the VCS and other stakeholders should contact the Luton Assembly Representatives directly.  All of the Representatives' contact details can be found on the Luton Assembly Website at http://www.lutonassembly.org.uk/representatives.html

Those of you interested in the Stronger & Safer agenda should continue to contact Alyson Horwood (stronger.safer@valuton.org.uk) who remains in post until the end of June 2012.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have worked in partnership with Luton Assembly to improve the quality of life for Lutonians and the organisations who work on their behalf.

The Luton Assembly had been established to help support and empower the community & voluntary sector, giving them a voice and helping them to shape and design service delivery within the town.

There are over 400 voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) in Luton and all of these are automatically eligible to be represented on the Luton Assembly.

There are a total of 32 Assembly representatives on the Luton Assembly. The Luton Forum, the local strategic partnership, consists of 14 representatives, who also form the Assembly Committee. The Assembly has the largest numerical presence of any partner on the Luton Forum.
